My name is Chris Almond. I live in Austin Texas. I am a knowledge activist and information technology optimist. I enjoy creative challenges, helping others succeed, and changing anything for the better.
I stopped blogging here a couple years ago, but I’m still trying to keep this page and my publications page up to date.
I called this blog “YouTurn” because that name seems like an apt portmanteau for capturing the content revolution taking place via the internet.
Some things I like to do: design systems that make it easier for people to capture and share knowledge, ride my mountain bike, experiment with disruptive technologies, be an Assistant Scout Master in my son’s troop and play an infinitely challenging game called Go.

Here is what I’ve been working on recently.
“Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.”

Note: The header photo was taken at ROT 2007 in Austin, while looking North up Congress Ave. toward the Texas capital bldg. I cropped and processed the original to produce a more gritty looking wide angle effect. Here is the original full frame source.
